Border Film Project Gave Out 1,000 Cameras To Migrants And Minutemen

Immigration Captured On Camera: “Part of the reason so many migrants — and U.S. citizens — have a hard time imagining what it’s like to cross the border is that no one’s every really visually documented the experience from both sides of the border, until now. The Border Film Project documents the journey… The project gave out about 1,000 disposable cameras, with pre-paid return envelopes, to both the migrants attempting to cross and the volunteer Minutemen attempting to stop them. Amateur photo projects

The world has no shortage of wannabe photogs, so why should we give a crap about pictures taken by complete amateurs with absolutely no training, artistic vision or high-tech equipment? Well, I don’t know, I guess I just like the idea of seeing the everyday through everyday eyes.

About
di4ent is an experiment. It's a collection of topical rotating wunderkammeresque distractions and delights. In other words, every month I'll choose four topics that I'd like to learn more about, or that I already find interesting and want to explore. Every weekday there will be a new post in each of the four topics. I decided to start it to give form and aim to my endless online wanderings. Plus I just like creating work for myself. So, I guess it's an online experiment in learning, linking, research and wasting time.
